Counseling Philosophy

My counseling style is student-focused; every time I meet with a student, I focus on obtaining more knowledge about them: their interests, strengths, concerns, etc. I also use my sense of humor to help relieve any stress or tension- one of my goals is to make this process as smooth and fun as possible!  I remind students and their parents that a student’s mental and physical health are of the utmost importance, and I continually focus on their well-being as we work together.

Counseling Philosophy

I firmly believe in the importance of finding the ideal fit for a student for their undergraduate degree and have visited colleges all over the country with them in mind. I listen to what a student wants in an ideal college experience and design a college list to best match these aspirations. I enjoy helping students and parents understand the college application process and am inspired by the growth they experience from the beginning to the end of the college journey.

Counseling Philosophy

My counseling philosophy is student-centered. As a college guide and mentor, I don’t tell students what to do, I partner with them. I ask them questions and listen to their responses to keep them the center of our conversation. I encourage students  to think critically about their future and what might be best for them. Above all, I hope students working with me will find the college process doesn’t have to be painful or stressful- it can be fun and exciting!
